Dr. Katrina Puchalski
Hi! I’m Dr Kat, one of the principal dentists here at Bigger Smiles. Together with my business and life partner, Dr Azher, we founded Bigger Smiles with our shared vision of caring for people the way we believe they deserve to be cared for. Our practice is built on lasting relationships, trust, and creating a warm, friendly, and non-judgemental space for every patient who walks through our doors.
I hold a Bachelor degree in Biomedicine and a Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Melbourne, and I’m incredibly passionate about providing dentistry that’s both evidence-based and deeply personal. I have often been told I have a gentle and calming approach, which helps patients—especially children and families—feel comfortable and at ease. We enjoy getting to know our patients beyond just their teeth, and it’s an honour to be part of their healthcare journey.
My goal is not only to treat but to educate and inspire enthusiasm for oral health and teef!
Outside of dentistry, I’m an avid nature and animal lover, and consider myself a citizen of the world, having grown up in four different countries. I have called Australia home for almost 2 decades, and I am super excited to welcome you to Bigger Smiles.

Dr. Azher Al-Abedi
Hi, I’m Dr Aza ! I am one of the principal dentists and co-founder at Bigger Smiles. One of the BIGGEST motivations for starting BIGGER SMILES, was that I could perform transformative dentistry that is quite impactful to the community. I have learnt from world-renowned educators and put a great deal of hours into learning how to do comprehensive smile makeovers and full mouth implant rehabilitations. My passion lies in the art of dentistry and creating lasting bonds with patients.
I have completed a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours at the University of Technology Sydney and a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne. Currently, I am furthering my skills by pursuing a Master’s in Oral Implantology at the prestigious Goethe University Frankfurt.
Patient comfort is a top priority for me. I work closely with a visiting sedationist to offer personalised sedation options, ensuring even the most nervous patients feel at ease throughout their treatment.
Dentistry aside, I grew up in Sydney and love exploring new cultures and countries. HUGE fan of golf, even though I cannot hit a ball to save my life, and always up for a laugh and a bit of banter. I cannot wait to meet you!
